Vellum + Vine Kickoff March 14th!

Vellum + Vine will kickoff March 14th, 2022!

Vellum + Vine is a free book club for book worms and wine lovers. It is multi-genred, with themed months to allow members to read a variety of work throughout the year.

Members nominate and vote on books a month and a half in advance, giving members plenty of time to get access to books, whether that is by reserving them at the library or purchasing them from a store or online outlet.

We meet digitally on the last Saturday of the month to discuss the books and our chosen wine pairings.

There is never a perfect time to start something, so you might as well dive head-on into it.

I’ve been excited about this idea for over a year. Planning, researching, and trying to figure out how I could merge my passions.

Vellum + Vine started out as an idea for a bookstore and wine bar, then it shifted into a book and wine subscription box because of the pandemic, but the logistics of creating something in either vein (because of liquor licenses, liquor shipping, etc) were extremely daunting.

So, with the suggestion of friends, I pivoted the idea into a book club, where I could meet my reading goals collaboratively with others (while also enjoying wine). Perhaps somewhere down the line, should we grow, I’ll explore the subscription box idea a little further. For now, Vellum + Vine is just about enjoying books and wine with friends.

On March 14th, 2022, I’ll kickoff Vellum + Vine by announcing April’s book of the month.

While I hope future books will ultimately be chosen by members, the first one, because of a lack of established membership, will be chosen by me.

April’s month is self-help/inspirational (non-religious).
